Sustainability at Meraki Beach
🌿 At Meraki Beach, sustainability isn’t a trend — it’s the heart of everything we create. From the fabrics we choose to the partners we work with, we’re committed to slow, ethical fashion that nurtures both people and planet. Every piece is crafted consciously, so you can wear it with pride — knowing it’s been made with integrity, care and love.
🤍 BCI – Better Cotton Initiative
Best practice starts at the source.
We’re proud to use cotton sourced through the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) — the world’s largest cotton sustainability programme. BCI helps cotton-growing communities thrive by protecting and restoring the environment, empowering farmers and promoting fairer working conditions.
Through education and training, Better Cotton farmers learn how to:
- Use water efficiently and care for soil health
- Reduce harmful chemical use
- Protect natural habitats
- Respect worker rights and wellbeing
BCI also drives change for women’s equality within cotton farming communities, helping women gain economic independence and leadership roles.
Better Cotton operates under a mass balance system, meaning that while the cotton in each garment may not be physically traceable, the farmers benefit in direct proportion to the demand we create.
✨ Today, almost a quarter of the world’s cotton is grown under the Better Cotton Standard, with over 2.4 million farmers trained in sustainable practices.
By choosing Meraki Beach, you’re helping to support this global movement towards a greener, fairer cotton industry.
🌍 Amfori – Safe, Fair & Transparent Supply Chains
Everyone deserves a safe and fair place to work.
We partner with amfori, a global organisation leading the way in human rights and environmental due diligence across supply chains. With over 2,400 members worldwide, amfori’s mission — Trade with Purpose — helps brands like ours uphold the highest social and environmental standards.
Through the Amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), our partner factories are regularly audited and trained to ensure:
- No child or forced labour
- Fair wages and equal opportunities
- Safe and respectful working conditions
- Environmental responsibility at every step
This partnership empowers our suppliers with education and continuous improvement programmes, helping to reshape industry standards from within — ensuring every Meraki Beach piece is made ethically and responsibly.
💫 Reemi – Period Equity & Women’s Empowerment
Period equity for all.
At Meraki Beach, we believe in supporting the women behind our clothes. That’s why we proudly partner with Reemi, a social enterprise dedicated to improving menstrual health and wellbeing for garment workers around the world.
Together, we help provide:
- Access to sustainable, culturally sensitive period products
- Health education and empowerment for women in the global garment industry
Reemi’s work breaks taboos, supports women’s dignity, and ensures no one is held back by something as natural as their body. This partnership allows us to extend our impact far beyond the clothes we create — into the lives of the women who make them.
🌸 Certified Non-Toxic Dyes – Gentle on You, Gentle on the Earth
Harmful chemicals have no place against your skin — or in nature.
Our fabrics are dyed using OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified processes, meaning every thread has been tested and verified to be free from harmful substances like pesticides, heavy metals, formaldehyde and toxic surfactants.
This world-recognised certification ensures that:
- Our garments are safe for your skin
- Our dyeing processes minimise environmental impact
- Workers are protected from hazardous exposure
Regular audits and on-site testing ensure full compliance and accountability — from fibre to finish. It’s one more way we ensure every Meraki Beach piece is not only beautiful, but kind to you and to the Planet.
🌞 Our Promise
We’re constantly learning, evolving and finding new ways to tread more lightly on the Earth. Every decision we make — from fibre to finish — is made with purpose. Because true luxury is sustainability that feels good, looks good, and does good.
Wear the change. Live slowly. Love deeply.
With love,
