We have decided to offer a Vegan Silk alternative as we believe that this option is more ethical, sustainable and much kinder to the Environment and our Planet.

Modal Satin is a wood pulp based cellulosic fibre made from beech trees extract. The cellulose extracted from the beech trees is spinned manually to make it into a beautiful fabric just as luxurious as natural silk. Modal Satin is made from natural materials and is completely biodegradable and considered a more eco-friendly alternative to cotton and other fabrics because beech trees don't require much water to grow and therefore the production process uses about 10-20 times less water.

In our designs we only use FSC certified Modal Satin. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. For every tree that is used, another is planted in it's place.
